Storytellers at the Star & Shadow Cinema,

A Bit Crack Storytellers are one of the longest-standing groups of storytellers in the UK and have delighted audiences with their skills for over 14 years. Formed originally in the early 1990’s the group consist of the combined talents of  Chris Bostock, Malcolm Green, Pat Renton and Pascale Konyn.

The group host a regular storytelling night at the Star and Shadow Cinema which is situated in the Ouseburn valley, an area recognised by the City of Newcastle upon Tyne to be a cultural quarter. Held on the first Friday of every month at 7.30pm the informal atmosphere at the Star and Shadow is perfect for storytelling with a friendly ambience and a warm welcome for story lovers of all ages.

Visits from guest storytellers such as Clare Murphy & Diarmuid O’Driscoll, Robin Williamson and Mats Rehnman are interspersed with local storytelling nights and open floor evenings.


Candles on the tables, good company and a bar complement the event which is always great for having ‘a bit crack.’
