THE CARDIFF STORYTELLING CIRCLE

www.cardiffstorytellers.org
In 1992 a group of professional storytellers came together to share stories in an informal way. The group has expanded and grown and now involves people from all walks of life. It aims to provide a safe place for people to tell their stories - anyone at whatever level can feel comfortable and supported by others who share an interest in oral storytelling.
We usually meet twice a month - our regular monthly meetings are held in pubs (currently at The Duke of Clarence, Canton ) on the first Sunday at 8pm with additional specialist evenings later in the month- this is where we allow for more in depth discussion of topics of interest.
We also promote storytelling for adult audiences by :

Presenting performances by visiting and local professional storytellers
Presenting regular performances evenings ( four times a year)
with a mix of professional and amateur tellers entitled
'Tales for the Turning Year'
Arranging social events

As a legally constituted organisation we are able to apply for and receive public funding towards the costs of our storytelling events.
